'Ditching the Dogma for the Light'

Yup. That's the name of the book. The full title, adding a thumbnail for each line, is:

Imo                                     In my opinion. Freedom to express with impunity.

3 Steps Back                       For more poise and objectivity - jettison ego excesses

GIVROBY a Chance               And form a colossal 'rainbow' alliance

Namaste                             The divine in me honors the divine in you

Spirit                                  More neutral than 'God,' which we've SO distorted

Each of the five lines gets a few pages to start the book. Since I'm blogging it, the reasons behind these word and phrase choices will become clearer in the early blogs. And all the blogs will spell out most of the book. A quick synopsis:

I’m on a very bumpy work-in-progress ride through life, with things I’ve learned and experienced, and with ongoing practices and goals; for instance: enjoy today; listen to great music; laugh a lot; love a lot; try new things; indulge when it feels right; practice prosperity; be a better person today than I was yesterday; unlearn and get past distasteful habits; speak my truth without fear; when the fundies snarl, snarl back, but with compassion; help the world ooze Namaste and put the scourges of the world out of business; allow myself every opportunity to seek, find and live Universal Spiritual truths; radiate those truths to all.

When I thought about who would want to read about such stuff, I was struck by the bewildering complexity of every individual I meet: all the unique, crazy stuff we carry around: inborn traits, childhood wounds, family, religion, school, job and technology influences; common and uncommon threads, our needs, dreams, intentions, commitments, challenges, loves and fears. It’s staggering! But knowing that a huge number of people have similar bumps in their rides, I suspect I’ve been joined by the perfect reader: you! With everything you bring to the table. Even disagreements. I mean, let's face it in advance - nobody could possibly agree with everything I say. Except maybe that guy in the mirror…..and he looks older than I remember.

And so it is that I invite you to join me as I unfurl this journey. May you find it thought-provoking, useful and enjoyable. Bumps and all.
